The Tashkent Police Department is exploring prohibiting trucks from driving in the city during peak hours. The decision to implement this solution will be based on the opinions of the city's residents. The law enforcement agency has launched a survey on its telegram channel to gather feedback.
The proposed plan is to restrict truck movement between 7:00 am to 10:00 am and 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. As of August 5, 12:27 pm, 6,000 people have participated in the survey, with 86% agreeing to the ban.
Reportedly, this is not the first attempt to introduce such a regulation in the city. In the past, the authorities have tried to enforce similar restrictions, including one that only allowed trucks to enter Tashkent at night. However, these attempts were met with resistance from the construction lobby, and the restrictions were never implemented.
