A new investment project at the Tashkent Thermal Electric Station is underway, which involves constructing two gas turbine units, as per report by Uzbekistan's Ministry of Energy.
The project, with Türkiye-based "Çalık Enerji" as the primary contractor, will have a total capacity of 64 MW.
Recently, the construction site received the first gas turbine unit from the Japanese company "Mitsubishi."
Once the project is complete, it is estimated that the annual electricity generation will reach 515mn kWh, while the thermal energy will be 630,000 Gcal. This would save 219,000 cubic meters of natural gas and create over 40 new job opportunities.
