As part of the "Uzbekistan-2030" project, a series of reforms will be implemented in the Central Asian country to enhance public health in a bid to increase the population's average life expectancy to 78 years by augmenting the annual health budget.
Besides, concerted efforts will be made to reduce premature mortality caused by diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, respiratory illnesses, and infectious diseases by a factor of 2.5.
Medical care will be provided to 350,000 people with diabetes and 1.5mn cardiovascular patients. The plan also aims to reduce hereditary morbidity among children by 50%.
The mortality rate for women, newborns, and children under five years of age within 42 days of pregnancy detection will be reduced to improve maternal and child health. The number of birthing facilities will be increased by 35%, and the objective is to reduce cancer mortality by half per 100,000 people aged 30-69.
Earlier, Daryo reported that the Iranian Red Crescent Society plans to launch new medical centers in Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, as confirmed by an IRCS official. This initiative is expected to promote the country's health diplomacy and humanitarian activities in Central Asia.
Besides, representatives from Tashkent Medical Academy and the Uzbekistan Embassy in Seoul met with officials from the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the Korean International Health Foundation (KOFIH), and the management of Seiyon Prime clinic to discuss collaborative efforts in the field of medicine between the two countries.
