London's abandoned stairwell put up for sale at £20,000, The Guardian has reported.
Estate agents in London have listed an offer to sell a four-story glass-enclosed stairwell in the southwest part of the city, as reported by The Guardian. The listing includes an online video tour, showcasing the space cluttered with cardboard boxes, a bicycle, fire extinguishers, and plants. One of the windows is also seen to be broken.
The average cost of an apartment in the area is £400,000, and there is no shortage of demand for housing. Potential buyers of the stairwell are likely hoping to obtain permission for remodeling, expansion, or adaptation of the existing structure. However, The Guardian notes that achieving this might not be so straightforward.
Over the past decade, the average property value in London has increased by 63%, from £322,000 to £525,000.
