On July 31, the Russian military launched a missile strike on Krivyi Rih in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Ukraine, Gazeta.uz has reported.
According to the head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Igor Klymenko, one missile hit a residential high-rise building, while another struck a four-story educational institution.
The impact of the second missile caused significant damage to the section from the 4th to the 9th floor of the residential building, resulting in a fire, as reported in the statement.
Emergency services are currently working to extinguish the fire and clear the debris, as there may be people trapped underneath.
According to the latest data from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, four people lost their lives in the attack, and 43 others were injured, including four children.
The head of the military administration of Krivyi Rih, Alexander Vilkul, clarified that the rockets struck a densely populated area in the city's central part.
In response to the attack on Krivyi Rih, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky shared footage of the aftermath of the shelling. He condemned the recent deliberate targeting of cities and civilian infrastructure, stating that this terror will not scare or break them.
On July 30, Ukrainian drones attacked Moscow. This is the fourth attempt at a strike on the Russian capital this month and the third one this week, raising concerns about Moscow's vulnerability to such attacks amid the ongoing conflict with Ukraine. The attack comes amid a Ukrainian counteroffensive to reclaim territory captured by Russia during its invasion in February 2022.
