The Ministry of Labor, Migration, and Employment of Tajikistan has recently presented a strategy to regulate migration processes until 2040, media reports. The government adopted the plan on June 30.
According to Gulnor Hasanzoda, the Minister of Labor, Migration, and Employment, the goal of the document is to regulate both internal and external migration in the country.
The strategy aims to enhance employment prospects for Tajik citizens in foreign nations by focusing on professional training and language courses in English, Korean, and Japanese.
Besides, a social fund will be created to assist migrant workers and their families. The policy will be carried out in six phases and oversee all aspects of population migration, such as labor, external, internal, environmental, and refugee.
By 2040, all current legal and regulatory acts related to migration will be analyzed and amended.
The strategy also includes the development of an electronic recording mechanism for migration processes and the establishment of a public council in the Migration Service, with participation from state authorities and international/non-governmental organizations.
The strategy aims to improve the process of sending migrant workers, who currently work in eight countries, including Russia, Kazakhstan, Japan, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait.
