As per the data provided by the Agency for Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the number of foreign tourists visiting Tajikistan in the first half of this year has surpassed 490,000. This marks a significant increase of nearly one-third compared to the same period in 2022.
In total, around 630,000 foreign nationals have visited the country for various purposes, including business trips and leisure, which marks a growth of 34% in comparison to the previous year.
The majority of foreign visitors hailed from Uzbekistan (413,000), Russia (151,000), Kazakhstan (15,500), China (8,600), Türkiye (5,300), the United States (4,300), Iran (2,700), and Afghanistan (2,400).
The number of Tajikistan's citizens departing from the country during the first half of this year has surpassed 1.6mn, marking a 40% increase compared to the previous year.
As of April, Tajikistan boasted 240 tourist companies and 185 hotels, including five five-star hotels, 20 four-star hotels, 14 three-star hotels, four two-star hotels, one first-class hotel, and 140 hotels without accreditation.
