Uzbekistan's Cabinet of Ministers has released a draft resolution entitled "On the preparation and execution of the 100th-anniversary celebration of Kashkadarya region."
As per media reports, this decision was reached following a meeting with the President subsequent to his visit to Kashkadarya on February 24, 2023. The resolution aims to organize a dignified commemoration of the region's 100th anniversary, as it occupies a special place in the country's rich history and culture.
The proposal includes the renovation of buildings in Karshi and Shahrisabz, furnished with modern lighting equipment, as well as the organization of various events, such as the International Scientific Conference on "The Role of Kashkadarya in the Development of world civilization" and a regional poetry competition entitled "Anthem of the country in epics."
These events will be organized by the National Commission of Uzbekistan for UNESCO and international organizations and will celebrate the region's potential in oil and gas, agriculture, and other industries.
The Kashkadarya region, situated in the basin of the Kashkadarya River, is known for its eco-friendliness. The name Kashkadarya has multiple meanings, including "clean river" and "river lost in the sand." The city of Karshi serves as the region's administrative center.
Several famous nature reserves, such as Kitab, Gissar, and Kizil-say, are located in the region.
