At 8:00 (UZT) in Uzbekistan, polling stations for early presidential elections opened. Voting at the polling stations is possible until 20:00 (UZT).
The presidential candidates consist of four individuals: Ulugbek Inoyatov from the People's Democratic Party, Shavkat Mirziyoyev from the Uzbekistan Liberal Democratic Party (UzLiDeP), Robahon Mahmudova from the "Adolat" Party, and Abdushukur Hamzaev from the Ecoparty.
According to the updated Constitution of Uzbekistan, the candidate who wins the elections will become the president for the next 7 years.
The Central Election Commission reminded about the voting procedure for the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan:
According to the Central Election Commission's data as of July 1, 2023, a total of 376,623 voters have exercised their right to early voting. Among them, 275,592 voters have voted within the country, and 101,031 voters have voted abroad.
Taking photos or videos of a filled ballot or the process of filling it out, as well as sharing captured images, including posting them on social media, is prohibited. Such actions violate the principle of secret voting.
