Kazakhstan is poised to export over 75 product categories valued at roughly $250mn to Iran. As per Vice Minister of Trade and Integration Kairat Torebayev's report, domestic companies are looking to further increase this figure, with trade between the two nations having grown by 20% in the previous year.
Representatives from over 100 large and medium-sized companies have attended the Kazakh-Iranian business forum in Kazakhstan's capital Astana to discuss the potential for strengthening trade and economic partnerships. The events' agenda has covered various topics, including the supply of agricultural, food, and machinery products, focusing on Kazakh barley, wheat, butter, and flax seeds, which are in high demand.
Conversely, Iranian construction materials, fresh fruits and vegetables, and oil products are in great demand in the Kazakh market. Over 500 companies with joint capital from both countries are registered in the republic.
Kairat Torebayev emphasized that Iran is a promising and reliable partner for Kazakhstan and expressed the country's intention to increase exports to the Iranian market shortly.
