The Ministry of Emergency Situations has reported that a significant fire in Astana, which began a week ago, has been extinguished.
The fire started near Lake Taldykol in the salt flats of the capital, burning reeds and dry grass. Firefighters extinguished the blaze on June 26 at 11:22 am, after it had covered an area of 80 hectares.
At 9:12 am on June 19, a fire erupted in Sukhosta, between the Korgalzhyn highway and the bypass road leading to Kossha in Astana.
Helicopters Mi-17 from the Defense Ministry were deployed to combat the fire, and by 9:09 pm, it was contained. According to estimates, the fire covered an area of 80 hectares.
Kazakhstan's Minister of Emergency Situations, Syrym Shariphanov, ordered additional groups of forces and resources from the Department of Emergency Situations in the Akmola and Karaganda regions to help put out the fire.
