Presidential candidate Shavkat Mirziyoyev has announced plans to bring 100 modern electric buses to the city of Karshi. Alongside this, the city will see the construction of 200 charging stations, all funded by attracting $30mn of funds in collaboration with International Financial Organizations.
As a result of this collaboration, there will be extensive road improvements.
Specifically, the "Karshi - Shahrisabz - Kitab" and "Samarkand - Karshi" highways, spanning 177 kilometers, will undergo overhauls. Additionally, a 60-kilometer section of the "Almaota - Bishkek - Tashkent - Shahrisabz - Termiz" road passing through the Kashkadarya region will be reconstructed.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev also pledged financial support for students from needy families in Kashkadarya, with contract money allocated to 20,000 students. An amount of $1.9bn will be dedicated to this cause. Moreover, young entrepreneurs starting their businesses in rented buildings will be eligible for a 50% rent reimbursement for one year. Additionally, a system of paid internships in state organizations will be introduced for students.
These initiatives reflect a comprehensive plan to promote sustainable transportation, improve infrastructure, and support students and young entrepreneurs in the region.
