Two people in the Andijan region were struck by lightning on June 19, Uzbekistan, Khayot Shamsutdinov, General Prosecutor's Office of Uzbekistan, has reported.
Despite the medical team's utmost efforts, it was impossible to preserve the life of a male patient who was 17 years of age. Currently, a female patient who is 15 years old is still receiving medical attention at the hospital.
A tragic incident occurred at 8 am on a cotton farm, according to Nargiza Usmonova, the mother of the girl involved. Strong winds and a lightning flash contributed to the weather's deterioration while they were working. The deceased was an acquaintance who helped them in the fields, and Nargiza called on him for assistance with cotton.
The injured girl was transferred from a district hospital to the Andijan branch of the Republican Emergency Medical Center. She sustained burns of varying degrees on her head, body, back, and legs and is in shock.
