The foreign trade activities in Uzbekistan's capital have witnessed a significant increase. The trade turnover in Tashkent has surpassed $9.8bn in the first five months of 2023, resulting in an annual growth of over $2.1bn, media reports.
Upon analyzing the trade turnover in each district, the Mirabad district has emerged as the top contributor, with a share of $1.827bn. Other areas, counting Chilanzar and Yunusabad districts, have also played a crucial role in strengthening the city's foreign trade cooperation.
The distribution of foreign trade turnover in different districts of Tashkent is as follows:
Bektemir district - $278.5mn; Mirzo-Ulugbek district - $659mn; Almazar district - $767mn; Sergeli district - $850.1mn; Uchtepa district - $280.1mn; Shaikhontokhur district - $696.8mn; Yakkasari district - $941.7mn; Yashnabad district - $822.7mn; Yangikhet district - $147.9mn.
The figures reflect the city's increasing participation in international trade, thereby establishing itself as a critical center of economic activity in the region.
