The foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan between January and May of 2023 has reached $25.8bn, reflecting a significant increase of 25.4% compared to the corresponding period in 2022, which stood at $20.6bn, the State Statistics Committee reported on June 21.
The country's total foreign trade volume for the period amounts to $10.5bn, while imports have been recorded at $15.3bn.
Uzbekistan has successfully established trade relations with 182 countries worldwide during the reported period.
Earlier, Daryo reported that the trade turnover in Tashkent had exhibited a notable increase of over $2.1bn annually, reaching a total of $9.8bn in the initial five months of 2023. The capital's Mirabad district has emerged as the foremost contributor, holding a significant share of $1.827bn.
