During a recent visit to the Fergana region, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a presidential candidate from Uzbekistan Liberal Democratic Party (O'zLiDeP), discussed essential reforms in the education and medical systems with local voters, media reports.
The focus was on improving the medical system, with plans to build and renovate over 100 regional medical institutions by 2030.
Additionally, more than 300 new private clinics would be able to open their doors to residents, increasing the total number of private health facilities to 1,100.
Earlier in May, the Ministers of Health of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan discussed progress in their medical collaboration. The two countries are working on digitalizing healthcare systems, implementing medical insurance, and improving the pharmaceutical industry. They also organize programs for exchanges between medical university students and doctors. The meeting noted the importance of accelerating the "roadmap," which addresses healthcare concerns in Central Asia.
