Four electric trains will be launched along the "Andijan-Fergana-Kokhan-Namangan-Andijan" railway ring to bring valley residents closer together. As a result, 8 journeys are scheduled per day, transporting around 10,000 passengers. This will cost $40mn. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, presidential contender, declared this on June 14 during a meeting with Andijan voters.
"By the end of this year, the $2.5bn megaproject to build the alternative toll road "Tashkent - Andijan" will begin in collaboration with the World Bank. As a result of the project's implementation, the travel time from Andijan to Tashkent will be reduced from 5 hours to 3 hours," stated Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Andijan International Airport will also be rennovated to fit modern standards, with $350mn set aside for the project.
Furthermore, by 2030, 600,000 residents in 427 communities will have access to safe drinking water, and 1mn residents' water supply will be enhanced.
The second branch of the main water pipeline "Khanabad-Andijan" will be built to improve the water supply of 510,000 people in the towns of Andijan, Khanabad and Karasuv, Kurgantepa, Jalakuduq, Andijan, Asaka, and Oltinkol districts. It will cost $35mn to complete.
"In general, we will increase the region's coverage of centralised drinking water from 87 percent to 97 percent," the candidate stated.
In accordance with the decree of the President of Uzbekistan, the early election of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan is scheduled for July 9, 2023.
