Sergei Mironov, the leader of the "A Just Russia — for Truth" party, has proposed that Russian employers be obligated to pay migrant workers at least the same wages as Russian citizens in equivalent positions. This suggestion was outlined in a document addressed to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, RIA Novosti reports.
The document advocates for enforcing legislation that sets migrant workers' wages at the same level as those of Russian citizens in the corresponding regions of Russia. It also suggests imposing fines on employers who fail to comply with this requirement, with the proceeds being allocated to improving the lives of families with multiple children.
Furthermore, the proposal emphasizes the establishment of a fund to support large families and encourage population growth within the country. Funding for this initiative could be generated, in part, by implementing an additional tax of 2% on employers who employ migrant workers.
Mironov also addressed the issue of money transfers from Russia to other countries, arguing that such transactions weaken the country's economic potential. He suggested introducing a 1% commission on these transfers as a measure to mitigate their impact.
