Chevrolet has started producing their highly-anticipated Onix 2023 sedan at the Kostanay plant in Kazakhstan, Daryo correspondent reports.
The Onix is expected to be the most popular model in the B-class sedan segment, with a starting price of around KZT 6mn ($13,000). Two versions are set to be available: one with a 1.2 liter, 90 horsepower atmospheric engine and manual transmission, and the other with a 132 horsepower engine and six-speed automatic transmission.
The Onix will not be offered in Russia, as the parent company has prohibited any deliveries to the region to avoid sanctions.
The exact pricing will be revealed during its presentation in Almaty. The vehicle is also being manufactured in Uzbekistan, where it costs UZS 149,005,000 ($13,000), but there is currently a waiting list of up to a year for orders to be fulfilled due to its high demand.
