Kazakh President Kasim-Jomart Tokayev talked to CCTV television in Kazakhstan in advance of his state visit to China, addressing China-Central Asia ties.
Tokayev stressed Kazakhstan's dedication to maintaining peaceful ties with all countries, primarily its neighbors. He stated that China plays a significant role in Kazakhstan's foreign policy and that the two nations are interested in bringing their peoples closer together. The President underlined his commitment to forging strategic alliances and long-term relations between the two countries.
He also addressed worries about China's expanding partnership with Central Asia, arguing that China's presence in the area is natural and that Kazakhstan and its Central Asian counterparts benefit from their ties with China. Finally, Tokayev declared his commitment to continue expanding economic ties with China and to do all possible to foster bilateral cooperation.
