Kazakhstan's Main Transport Prosecutor's Office recently investigated the regulation governing tariffs for passenger travel and found a flaw in the methodology used, media reports.
Specifically, it was discovered that the formula used to calculate the cost of rail travel included dynamic pricing, which could have led to higher prices for passengers purchasing travel documents. This raised concerns among the prosecutors, who felt such a pricing model was unfair to passengers.
As a result, the regulation was amended to remove this rule, and the sale of railway tickets with dynamic pricing has been suspended. The draft order to remove this rule is currently undergoing consultation with the relevant authorities.
Earlier, it was reported that air travel prices have climbed in Kazakhstan.
