To ensure a consistent and secure fuel supply, Uzbekistan has decided to establish a reserve of 1mn tons of gasoline and diesel fuel. The reserve will consist of both domestic and imported oil products, which will be distributed across the country.
The authorities plan to allocate special credits for this purpose, and each region will have to contribute to the formation of the stabilization fund for fuel. The country has also lifted the ban on fuel imports, and a significant amount of petroleum products are being imported from Russia. The 80th gasoline is the most popular type on the market, with about 100,000 tons of this product being imported from Russia during the cold season.
Official statistics indicate that 1.2mn tons of gasoline and 800,000 tons of diesel are produced in the republic. Therefore, creating this fuel reserve will go a long way in ensuring a steady and uninterrupted fuel supply to the people of Uzbekistan.
