A businessman in the Karshi district has initiated a project to heat a 10-hectare greenhouse using coal, which is expected to save 2.8mn m³ of gas and produce 8mn kWh of electricity through coal synthesis. The need to implement similar projects in other regions was emphasized, and the importance of adopting programs to support such initiatives was highlighted by Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Given the expected 1.5 times increase in demand for coal this year, the president noted that coal production needs to be increased from 5.3mn to 6.5mn tons. To achieve this, an $80mn loan will be allocated to the "Angren" coal mine, and the first line of "Sharg'unkomir" will be put into operation. Additionally, entrepreneurs will be attracted to 14 coal mines.
During the meeting, Shavkat Mirziyoyev also reviewed the presentation of projects aimed at expanding coal and uranium production. The production of coal is being expanded along with other sources to meet the energy needs of the country.
The modernization project of the "Sharg'unko'mir" joint-stock company is expected to be completed by 2023, and this will increase the production capacity of high-quality coal to 900,000 tons. The president also suggested that the production of high-quality coal could be further expanded by developing the "Sharg'un" and "Boysun" mines.
