President Mirziyoyev states four reasons why he wants to give up the remaining three and a half years of the presidential term during his meeting with the MPs of the Oliy Majlis, political parties, judicial and executive authorities, and public activists dedicated to the results of the referendum.
First. All branches of the system of government are experiencing serious reforms; the interaction and balance between them are changing;
Second. The New Constitution lays down new political, social, and economic duties for the president, parliament, government, ministers, and governors that cannot be postponed;
Third. The people of Uzbekistan expect very important and urgent changes and reforms in all areas;
Four. Amidst the present instability in the region where complex processes prevail, finding the right and effective way of development and its implementation is becoming the most acute and urgent matter.
"Dear fellow citizens, you can all see that today we are setting bigger goals today," the president said.
