Viktor Jalilov, a highly respected football coach who made a lasting impact in Uzbekistan's football world, died aged 71, Uzbekistan Football Association reported on May 7.
Tashkent-born Jalilov coached various teams throughout his career, including Navbahor Namangan, Pakhtakor Tashkent, and Dynamo Samarkand.
He won multiple titles, including the Uzbek League and the Uzbek Cup, and was named Coach of the Year three times, first in 1996 with Navbahor, then with Pakhtakor in 2002, and finally with Mash'al Mubarek in 2005.
Viktor Jalilov will be remembered for his exceptional coaching skills and contributions to the world of sport.
