Acting Mayor of Tashkent Shavkat Umurzakov and officials of Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company (ADSS) discussed a new wastewater collection and cleaning facility to be built on the outskirts of Tashkent.
ADSS executive director for sales, Abdulwahab al-Sharif, presented the preliminary project of the which is planned to be erected in the territory of the "Surum" neighbourhood of the Lower Chirchik district, Tashkent region. The guest focused on the need to jointly solve technical and organizational-legal issues.
It is reported that the 2-stage project allows collecting and cleaning 1.5 million cubic meters of waste per day. Notably, this project, which will be implemented together with Ozsuvtaminot JSC, envisages not only the construction of a treatment plant, but also the integration and modernization of all central pipelines directed to the existing treatment plants. According to the preliminary plan, the construction of the facility will begin in January 2024.
Umurzakov said that the necessary information will be provided by the organization's officials in a short period of time. Because presumably the ‘Yangi Toshkent’ residential area will also be connected to this system.
In the middle of March, acting mayor of Tashkent Bakhtiyor Rahmanov also met with officials of the Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company, headed by Ahmed Al Shamsi, the managing director and chief executive officer of the UAE. In February, it was reported that the level of provision of centralized drinking water to the population of the republic will reach 77%. 105 facilities and 1.4 thousand kilometers of drinking water and wastewater networks will be built in 54 new facilities and 17 new facilities.
