Kazakhstan's bilateral trade with Afghanistan has reached $1bn, more than with Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Serik Jumangarin told media. He confirmed that a Kazakh trading house has already been launched in Afghanistan, and a representative has been appointed to coordinate the work.
'It is necessary to study the market and meet local business people. So I want to invite Afghan business people here in July to hold a business forum to see Kazakhstan and our opportunities. Last time we took there not only those engaged in products but also subsoil users. Because it is quite a rich country in subsoil use, they are very interested,' Serik Zhumangarin said.
The trading house of Kazakhstan in Afghanistan in the city of Herat is aimed at promoting and strengthening bilateral trade relations and developing regional trade and economic, telecommunication, transport, and logistics links, using the transit and border potential of Afghanistan for trade with the countries of the region, attracting investment in Kazakhstan's economy.
