During his visit to Luxembourg, Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov met with Joseph Borrell, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission, the minister tweeted.
They addressed extending collaboration in favor of interregional links between the EU and Central Asia, as well as key changes in Uzbekistan. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev also met with Borrell in November 2022 regarding increasing Uzbekistan-EU cooperation for economic growth and interregional cooperation in the post-pandemic phase.
Earlier, on April 18, Bakhtiyor Saidov spoke with the European Union's special representatives for Central Asia and human rights, Terhi Khakala and Iman Gilmore, to speak about different areas of Uzbekistan-EU ties. The talks centered on political, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian, and mutual engagement in building civil society, human rights, gender equality, and free expression.
