Uzbekistan's exports for the 1Q of 2023 decreased by 2.6% compared to the same period in 2022, amounting to $5.7bn, Statistics agency reports.
Gold accounted for 42.4% of total exports, with $2.4bn worth of gold sold in January-March. However, gold exports decreased by $560bn compared to the same period in 2022.
The export of beverages and tobacco increased 2.7 times, from $10.2bn to $28.1mn, while the export of machinery and transport equipment doubled from $132.6bn to $160.2bn. The share of services in exports increased from 9.8% to 16.5%, amounting to $940.7mn.
The country exported 9.3% less industrial goods, with goods accounting for 83.5% of the exports, including industrial goods (17.2%), food products and live animals (6.1%), and various finished goods (5%).
