Silk Avia, the country's first regional airline, will start conducting passenger flights on April 25, Uzbekistan Airports reports.
Tashkent-Termiz, Tashkent-Navoi, Tashkent-Namangan, Tashkent-Karshi, Tashkent-Bukhara-Urganch-Bukhara, and Tashkent-Samarkand-Urganch-Samarkand will be the first routes served by the airline.
There will be three pricing choices available: "Oddiy" (Normal), "Oson" (Easy), and "Omad" (Luck) each with its own luggage limit and refund/rebooking possibilities. Air tickets start at $15.77, with the lowest rates available until April 30, ranging from €17 to €35 depending on the itinerary.
According to the airline's press department, Silk Avia intends to be a low-cost airline that can carry customers across Uzbekistan promptly and safely. The trip will be brief, lasting one to two hours, with no extra amenities, such as meals, blankets, pillows, or napkins, would be provided on board. Only water will be distributed in 0.25-liter plastic bottles by the airline. By reducing extra expenses, the airline intends to bring air ticket rates closer to those of train travel.
