For the first time, the extradition of an internationally wanted person from Sweden was carried out by the employees of the National Central Bureau (NCB) of Interpol in Uzbekistan, the press service of the bureau reports.
According to the report, the criminal was extradited from Sweden to Uzbekistan for the first time as a result of the joint efforts of the Tashkent and Stockholm NCBs of Interpol and the meetings between heads of agencies during the annual conference in France.
The wanted person allegedly colluded with his partners for the purpose of illegal enrichment, based on a well-thought-out plan, engaged in the sale of real estate by falsifying relevant documents, and caused great financial damage through his fraudulent actions.
According to the received information, the criminal was hiding in the territory of the EU countries, but during the search operation, the wanted person was identified and arrested in the territory of Sweden.
"After the request of the General Prosecutor's Office of Uzbekistan for extradition was granted, the criminal was brought to Uzbekistan for justice, accompanied by the Interpol MMB staff," the report said.
Daryo.uz has previously reported about the extradition of a citizen of Uzbekistan, who introduced himself as an embassy employee and tricked people in Latvia.
