Amanbay Sagidullayev and Niyetbay Urazbayev, who are suspected of guilt in the Nukus events, are being tried in absentia. Aziz Obidov, press secretary of the Supreme Court informs.
Amanbay Sagidullayev, who is accused of committing crimes under Articles 28,104, 158, 159, 244, and 244-1 of the Criminal Code, and the criminal case against Niyetbay Urazbayev is being considered in an open trial.
Based on Article 410 of the Criminal Procedure Code (participation of the defendant in the trial), since the defendants are outside the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan and it is not possible to bring them to court, the trial of this criminal case will be held without the participation of Amanbay Sagidullayev and Niyetbay Urazbayev.
