Saida Mirziyoyeva,Head of the Communications and Information Policy Branch of the Executive Office of the Presidential Administration, met with Jennifer Klein, assistant to Joe Biden and Director of the Gender Policy Council of the US Presidential Administration at the White House on March 24.
The parties discussed important reforms being carried out by the head of state in Uzbekistan.
Among other things they talked about the protection of women from gender violence and the work being done to prevent it in Uzbekistan.
"Overall, our communication was open and sincere. We discussed in detail the necessary measures so that the amendments to the Criminal and Administrative Responsibility Codes of Uzbekistan, which would criminalize violence against women and minors and ensure that these changes do not remain only on paper. Jennifer Klein offered practical help in this regard. Taking this into account, I think that we will have the opportunity to further strengthen and expand our relations in the future," Mirziyoyeva writes.
Mirziyoyeva met earlier with the Deputy General Director of the "Peace Corps" Thomas Penn in Washington.
