Abdulaziz Komilov, special representative of the President of Uzbekistan on foreign policy matters held talks with Taliban officials in Afghanistan.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the delegation of Uzbekistan met Mullah Abdul Ghani Barodar, Acting Deputy Prime Minister of Afghanistan, Amir Khan Muttaqi, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mullah Yakub Mujahid, Acting Minister of Defense, other members of the interim government.
The Central Asian neighbours discussed the continuation of construction work of the Termiz-Mazari-Sharif-Kabul-Peshowar railway and the laying of the electricity network along the Surkhan-Puli-Khumri route.
The dialogue touched upon women's rights by providing decent education for girls in Afghanistan, as well as the need to train Afghan personnel in the city of Termiz.
Within the framework of the meetings, special attention was paid to issues of cooperation in the field of water and energy.
