After arriving in Ankara on March 15, Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Reportedly, the Head of State expressed his deep condolences to Türkiye's President in connection with the devastating earthquakes in the southeastern provinces. He fully supported the measures taken to restore the affected areas and build new infrastructure.
The President of Türkiye, in turn, once again expressed gratitude to the President and people of Uzbekistan for their fraternal assistance in eliminating the consequences of the natural disaster, their active participation in rescue operations, and humanitarian assistance.
The summit of the Organization of Turkic States, which will be held on March 16, will portray the solidarity and fraternal ties between the countries of the organization.
The pace of development of the comprehensive strategic partnership relations was noted with satisfaction.
The volume of mutual trade is increasing, as 370 new enterprises were established last year. In the next six years, the volume of Türkiye's investments in the economy of Uzbekistan amounted to $3.5bn. Major projects are being implemented in energy, industry, agriculture, production of building materials, light industry, and other sectors.
The plan for future high-level events, including preparation for the next meeting of the Strategic Partnership Council, was also discussed.
Türkiye's Vice President Fuat Oktay was awarded the Order of "Friendship" for his great contribution to the comprehensive development of multifaceted and mutually beneficial relations between the two countries.
