Over 32,000 Uzbek nationals received consular assistance from Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry and diplomatic missions in the first two months (January and February) of 2023, Dunyo reports. 794 compatriots were assisted in finding employment abroad, the press secretary of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Akhror Burkhanov said at a video briefing.
Reportedly, $338mn of foreign direct investment was mastered in January with the active participation of Uzbekistan’s diplomatic missions.
In the first two months of the year, $35mn and 22 highly qualified foreign specialists were attracted to various sectors of Uzbekistan’s economy as grants and financial and technical assistance.
Nearly 1mn foreigners entered the territory of Uzbekistan in January-February. 99% of the foreign nationals entered the republic on a visa-free regime.
