Ambassador of Türkiye Olgan Bekar, in a briefing on Wednesday (February 8), thanked the government and people of Uzbekistan for rapid quake aid.
'Currently, we are organizing an aid activity in consultation with Uzbekistan's Chamber of Commerce and Industry and with the participation of businessmen. As a result, both aid-in-kind and cash aid from our Uzbek friends and citizens are being delivered to our country through Ziraat Bank', the envoy said in a briefing.
In addition, Ambassador Olgan Bekar emphasized that the aid collected following the order of Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will be delivered to Türkiye by cargo plane. Earlier, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed to send relief aid to those affected by the devastating earthquake. Reportedly, one hundred rescues arrived in Türkiye from the Central Asian republic.
'Along with the aid team and aid materials, Uzbekistan intends to provide some medical aid to our country. I want to thank President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the people of Uzbekistan with all my heart for the solidarity and messages', Ambassador Olgan Bekar stressed.
