The Uzbek government approved the national program for the development of seed and seedling production in Uzbekistan in 2023-2026. This was reported by the "Huquqiy axborot" channel on Telegram.
The program focuses on the creation of high-yielding varieties of agricultural crops based on international experience whose quality indicators meet the requirements of world standards, as well as the creation of local varieties such as F1 hybrids.
According to the decision, Uzbekistan sets centers with 2 European research centers:
- Uzbekistan-Serbia Agricultural Crops Seed Breeding Scientific Center;
- Uzbekistan-Turkey Pistachio Research Center.
One of the main tasks of the pistachio research center is to create high-yielding pistachio varieties suitable for local conditions.
