The Ministry of Higher Education Science and Innovation reported that the transfer of students from the Tashkent Index to dormitories by some higher education institutions is being misinterpreted on some social networking platforms.
At the beginning of the academic year, conditions were created for students to stay temporarily in the Tashkent Index shopping complex. Over the past period, most higher education institutions have created additional beds in student residences and transferred students who expressed a desire to move.
According to the press service of the Ministry, the complex cannot provide favourable conditions in the cold weather these days and the relocation work has accelerated due to the creation of more additional vacancies in the student residences.
Thus, Students who wish to stay at Tashkent Index cannot be forcibly expelled.
139 beds have been created at the Tashkent State University of Economics, and a new 300-bed place has been created in the student accommodation of the Oktepa Pedagogical College by the Tashkent State Pedagogical University.
Other similar higher education institutions have also prepared additional places based on internal possibilities. In addition, a new dormitory for 400 beds was built and put into use at the Tashkent State Dental Institute," the report said.
