State Security Service provides further information on criminal case opened against detained journalists

The State Security Service of Uzbekistan reported that a criminal case has been opened against the Human.uz internet publication, director Khurshid Daliyev, editor-in-chief Muslim Mirzajanov and several other staff members who were earlier arrested today.

According to the Law enforcement agents' statement Human.uz staff were arrested for their involvement in crimes committed via "Kompromatuzb" Telegram channel and other channels based on the appeal received from the person named I.A.

They have been charged with one count of extortion, and preliminary investigations are currently underway. During the investigation, the participants of the process were provided with a lawyer.
