Russian Nordwind Airlines intends to launch flights to Uzbekistan. The company unveiled plans to launch flights from Perm to at least two cities in the Central Asian country, Fergana and Samarkand. With this in mind, the air carrier filed a request to the Federal Air Transport Agency for allowance to operate flights to Uzbekistan, Kommersant reports.
In particular, Nordwind Airlines plans to fly triweekly on the Perm-Fergana route in the summer and from Perm to the historic city of Samarkand in winter.
Besides, Russia's Utair is expanding its route network in Uzbekistan. In April 2022, Utair launched flights from Tashkent to Tyumen and Surgut, and in June, it was between Moscow and Samarkand. Since July, it has also been flying on the Tashkent-Ufa route. Furthermore, starting January 2023, the airline has launched flights from Samara to Samarkand and, recently, - on the Surgut-Fergana route.
