Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan inked an investment deal for the Kambarata HPP-1 project in the Jalal-Abad province of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan's Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade has informed.
Under the document, the agreement of the general tripartite treaty may be reached in July. The office of the Kambarata HPP project is to open in September, and the feasibility study development is due to begin in July 2024. Earlier in January, the ministers of energy of the three Central Asian states, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan, inked a road map for the joint implementation of the Kambarata HPP-1 project. The capacity of HPP is to reach 1860 MW with a reservoir volume of 5.4bn cubic meters. The station is set to manufacture an average of 5.6bn kWh of electric power annually. The project is envisaged to be completed by the end of 2025.
