Besides, the head of the governmental department noted the importance of restoring the infrastructure, and agriculture affected by numerous damages.
Uzbekistan has implemented various programs to preserve the environment, including the Yashil Makon presidential initiative. With this in mind, the Uzbek delegation made a presentation on the republic's efforts to transform the Aral Sea region into an area of environmental innovation.

The high-level event on January 9-10, 2023 brought together governments, leaders from the public and private sectors, and civil society to support the people and the government of Pakistan after last year's devastating floods.
According to UN data, the devastating floods in Pakistan left one-third of the country submerged, about 15,000 dead or injured, and 8mn displaced. Over 2mn homes, 13,000 kilometers of highways, 439 bridges, and more than 4mn acres of agricultural land were destroyed or damaged. An estimated 9mn more people could be forced into poverty as a direct consequence of these floods.
With help from the UN, the generosity of donors and partners, and the heroic response of its people, the Government of Pakistan has been able to respond to this unprecedented climate catastrophe. It provided $245mn in cash support to 2.2mn households and, with the help of international agencies, has distributed hundreds of thousands of tents, food, water, and medicines to the destitute and the displaced.
