On Sunday (January 8), Uzbekistan's delegation met with the leadership of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia in Jeddah. On that day, the adviser to Uzbekistan's President Muzaffar Komilov thanked the Saudi side for the invitation expressing the country's willingness to boost the bilateral cooperation further, Dunyo reports.
In his turn, the Saudi minister acknowledged that the two-way interaction had succeeded in recent years. This was given impetus by the state visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Saudi Arabia in August 2022 at the invitation of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Besides, the head of the ministry noted that introducing a visa-free regime is a great relief for Saudi Arabian citizens when traveling to the Central Asian country. He said that the broad promotion of these opportunities in Saudi Arabia would bring positive results.
The intensive construction of the Memorial Complex with an innovative museum dedicated to the life and work of the great Islamic theologian and hadith scholar Imam al-Bukhari continues in the Samarkand region. The Saudi side unveiled its intention to partake in its opening ceremony.
