Another egregious case of animal cruelty occurred in Uzbekistan. The local segment of social networks spread a video in which several men, presumably in the Tashkent region, skinned a dog alive, media reports.
Mehr va Oqibat’s call center received several messages about a video of a dog screaming in hellish pain after being skinned and beaten with a stick. As users have noted, this alleged brutality occurred in the metropolitan area. Unfortunately, the information on when the tragedy happened is not yet available.
‘As long as citizens who commit such acts are not punished to the full extent of the law, this will continue. Therefore, we ask the Ministry of Internal Affairs to find all those involved - those who have quietly filmed and exposed this video and those who have tortured a defenseless animal, and to punish according to the law,’ eco-defenders said.
Merh va Oqibat representative told Daryo.uz that all the complaints were transferred to Uzbekistan's Ministry of Internal Affairs office. The animal defense community added that its hotline received reports of animal abuse daily in December 2022.
