The Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan organized a seminar training on the draft law on the protection of children from oppression and violence. This was reported by the "Dunyo" news agency.
According to the 80 studies conducted in different countries today, 35% of schoolchildren are constantly harassed and bullied. In the USA, Great Britain, and Scandinavian countries, which have special programs to combat harassment and violence, the rate of harassment and violence is 20 per cent lower than in countries without such programs.
During the seminar, the conceptual basis of the legislation to be developed to strengthen the legal mechanisms aimed at combating harassment and violence against children in Uzbekistan was considered.
In particular, the draft law to be developed specifies the system of protection against all forms of oppression and violence against children, the state policy in this regard, and the tasks of judicial authorities.
At the end of the seminar training, it was agreed to develop a draft law with the discussed issues and to discuss it again in the future.
