Uzbek President participated in the exhibition of modern textbooks held in Tashkent on December 29. "Uzbekistan 24" TV channel aired a special report on this visit.
The head of the state personally reviewed the modern educational materials.
" Teaching like yesterday is not acceptable today, it is not possible. The environment, education, national pride, and the point of view of our pride depend on you," the president addressed the teachers.
"This is a textbook, 10%, maybe 20% of our books, but 75-80% of the problem remains in the knowledge of the teacher. "My biggest concern is how the teachers will accept this new approach," Mirziyoyev said.
"This is a license issued by Finnish experts. They looked at each task in the textbooks and positively evaluated the students' creativity, logical thinking, ability to work in a team, and the extent to which these tasks develop pupils’ skills.
We do not want to completely copy Finland’s model. We want to learn their skills and adjust it to our national values," Nodira Azizova, a teacher of the 144th school in the capital, added.
The new textbooks have been tested so far in the 134th school in Tashkent. According to the preliminary results, the student's mastery rate is 88 per cent whereas this indicator does not exceed 67 in traditional schools.
"Since September, our school has been conducting an international test. To be honest, textbooks are very convenient for both students and teachers. There was no need for teachers to talk much. Each conventional sign will be remembered by the reader.
For example, In the new Mathematics Textbook, an opportunity has been created for super-students to move on to the next tasks independently before slow-learning students complete the tasks," Gavhar Rashidova, a teacher of the 134th school, said.
The 4K principle based on the educational-methodical complexes (OMK) of the new generation presented to the President:
- Critical thinking;
- Collaboration (teamwork);
- Creativity (creativity);
- Communication (communication skills).
