According to the information of the State Statistics Committee, currently, the Kazakh language has been taught in 144 general education institutions in Uzbekistan.
In recent years, the number of general education institutions providing education in the Kazakh language has declined:
- 2018/2019 academic year - 153;
- 2019/2020 academic year - 152;
- 2020/2021 academic year - 149;
- 2021/2022 academic year - 144.
According to the legislation, equal rights to education are guaranteed to everyone in Uzbekistan, regardless of gender, race, nationality, language, religion, social origin, faith, personal and social status. The education system is uniform and continuous and consists of the following types:
Mandatory general secondary education is conducted in 7 languages: Uzbek, Karakalpak, Russian, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Turkmen and Tajik.
