On Wednesday (December 21), Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan inked agreements on the development of cooperation in the trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres between Samarkand and Turkestan, reached trade contracting in agriculture, and adopted an investment roadmap, Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade reports.
In addition, the Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan business forum in Tashkent resulted in the signing of a package of agreements on plans for the development of cooperation between the business communities of the two neighboring countries totaling over $3bn.
Earlier, Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Jamshid Khojaev said that Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan plan to create a joint foreign trade company and an international center for promotion. The head of the government department also proposed collaborative projects to raise cattle, grains, and oilseeds on the territory of Kazakhstan.
