As of January-October 2022, the number of newly established international IT companies in Uzbekistan reached 276, the State Statistics Committee which is fourfold more compared to the last year.
From January-October 2021, 380 foreign IT companies were operating in Uzbekistan. This year, this figure reached 659.
In October 2022, 69 new foreign IT companies started their business activities. In September, this figure was merely 11.
What lies behind these numbers?
This growth is explained by the move of many Russian and Belarusian IT companies to other countries, including Uzbekistan after the war had erupted in Ukraine.
This is also explained by the increase in the number of specialists who moved to the country against the background of partial military mobilization announced in Russia.
After the declaration of military mobilization in Russia, about 700 thousand people left the country.
During the 9 months of 2022, 318,156 Russian citizens entered Uzbekistan. 210,902 of them are men, and 107,254 are women.
In addition, since April 1, the TashRush program has been launched in Uzbekistan, within the framework of which IT Park employees are helping foreign IT companies to move their businesses to Uzbekistan such as:
- Ravenage Games is a publisher of computer games. The company is also involved in financing, and last year it raised a $20 million fund.
- Outer Space — Made on Earth Games game production studio. The company is currently working on a 4X mobile strategy.
- Fusionlabs is a ProductStar company that trains project managers and developers.
- ForCode is the developer of Diglex (a tool for extracting information from text) and Robert Robot (artificial intelligence for technical support services).
